LINO TOOL V is a linocut tool I designed for beginners and professional artists alike. It combines a versatile blade with an ergonomic oak handle.

The 3 mm V-shaped blade allows you to carve lines approximately 0.5 – 3 mm wide. Their width depends on the depth of the cut, so you can create both delicate details and broader, bold lines with a single tool.

My many years of experience have taught me that two well-chosen tools are enough to create linocuts: a 3 mm V-tool and a 3 mm U-tool. This idea inspired LINO TOOL, versatile tools that support everything from your first experiments to complex compositions.

I see a carving tool as an extension of the artist’s hand. Over the course of a year, I tested more than a dozen handle shapes with my students and workshop participants. I chose a form that sits comfortably in the hand and allows natural, controlled movement of the blade.

The handle is made from oak, protected with oil and wax. Carefully selected wood, natural grain patterns and variations in colour give every tool its own individual character.

Each tool is hand-assembled, sharpened and polished at Pomykała STUDIO, so it arrives ready to carve. The blister packaging also serves as a storage case, protecting the tool from damage.
