STROP TOOL is a sharpening and polishing board I designed for linocut and woodcut tools. It provides daily blade care and touch-up honing while you work, helping maintain smooth cutting and control over your tools.

The idea grew out of my many years of experience in fine art printmaking. I have used a similar approach when carving printing blocks for years. Seeing how many people struggle with sharpening their tools inspired me to create STROP TOOL, making tool care easier for beginners and professional artists alike.

Regular polishing helps refresh the cutting edge before your tool becomes noticeably dull. Use the board during carving sessions to keep your blades in good condition and cut without excessive pressure. This is the approach I choose for the everyday care of my own tools.

The board is made from birch plywood and natural polishing felt, used with green polishing compound. Its simple design and convenient, elongated working surface make it easy to incorporate into your daily studio routine.

Every board is made at Pomykała STUDIO. From the initial idea and choice of materials through to production, it is based on a solution I use myself and have tested over many years of creating linocuts.
